Invisalign: Pros and Cons

Invisalign: Pros and Cons

Invisalign teeth aligners

Would you want an aligner or braces to restore your sparkling smile if you were visiting a Windsor dentist? If you’d much rather pick an aligner, you aren’t alone. Clear aligners have become increasingly popular, and perhaps the most renowned brand in the market today is Invisalign. It was introduced in 1998, and since then, it has helped several people smile a little brighter.

But should you visit a dentist in Severance, CO, to get one for yourself?

Consider these pros and cons first

The Pros

  • The aligner you wear will be manufactured from a smooth and flexible plastic that is comfortable to hold in your mouth. There aren’t any wires or brackets that will irritate your cheeks or lips, and you won’t have to worry about getting a cut in your mouth either.
  • One of the biggest advantages of Invisalign is that it’s removable. For several patients, this is the most prominent benefit. Since they’re clear and molded for you, people won’t even notice you’re wearing them.

The Cons

  • While there are obvious benefits of the Invisalign solution, there are only a limited number of cases where it can be used. For instance, moderate and mild bite issues can be used but not for more severe cases. On the other hand, Braces can be used for more severe cases.
  • As we mentioned earlier, Invisalign can be removed, but that is also a disadvantage. To make this solution work, you’ll need self-discipline. It can be comforting to take out your aligners for a while, but that will slow down the progress you’ll need to make.
