Why You Should Never Skip Brushing Your Teeth?

Do you brush your teeth at night?

After a tiring day, you may be tempted to compromise your dental routine and sleep without brushing your teeth. Although it doesn’t seem like a big deal, neglecting to brush once or twice a day can lead you to developing a habit of ignoring it altogether.

In case you have always been lazy about nightly brushing, now is a good time to establish this nighttime routine. But why is so much emphasis given to this routine? Well, there are multiple reasons.

Why Is Brushing Before Bed Necessary?

On normal days, the more you eat food, the more it is collected inside your mouth, which in turn develops into plaque. Plaque is the film-like, sticky material that feels slimy and sticks to your teeth stubbornly.

Neglecting to brush will cause plaque to stick to your teeth and produce bacteria that reduces your enamel. If you continue poor brushing habits, it will harden and develop into an even more dreadful substance, tartar.

Tartar is a yellow-colored, hard substance that accumulates near your teeth and gums. After your plaque turns into tartar, the problem is out of your control – you can’t remove it yourself.

Instead, you have to get an appointment with a dentist in Eaton, so they can use professional tools to remove it effectively. If tartar is not removed over time, it can lead to tooth loss, gum disease, and other serious issues. Therefore, brush your teeth daily before bed to eliminate any bacteria that is growing in your mouth.

You can send a message to Severance Dental to schedule an appointment, and Dr. Josh Kelly will address your concerns in a jiffy.
